“Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will. Find out just what people will submit to, and you have found the exact amount of injustice and wrong which will be imposed on them; and these will continue until they are resisted…”   Frederick Douglas, 1849

Sadness comes with pain that’s invisible
Cannot be washed out or forgotten
Disturbing peace and longing
For a place of sanctuary
Open hearts and hands to others who feel desperate
Gnawing tension of despised love
Embrace them with comfort
They’re suffering is a spot of darkness
That clouds us all
Yet offers a home for the heart
Knowing these despised and desperate lovers
Offers a place of rest
 Arouses the best in everyone
